Description

The split of the kingdom of Israel in the Bible refers to the division of the united kingdom of Israel into two separate kingdoms: the Kingdom of Israel in the north and the Kingdom of Judah in the south. This split occurred after the death of King Solomon, with his son Rehoboam becoming the king of Judah and another Israelite leader, Jeroboam, becoming the king of Israel. The northern kingdom, Israel, was eventually conquered by the Assyrian Empire and its people exiled, while the southern kingdom, Judah, was conquered by the Babylonian Empire and its people exiled. Eventually, some of the exiled Israelites and Judahites were able to return to their homeland. You can learn more about this event by trying to find these words in the word search above.
